About Doug James
JDJ International’s Costume/Millinery Division is owned and operated by Doug James.
Doug is a theatrical milliner with theatrical millinery being one of his many talents and interests. Being a Theater Arts
major in college led him to New York City and to Juilliard in 1978 where, among other things, he became the Julliard
Milliner. In those earlier years he also worked with John Noble at the Museum of the City of New York restoring antique
clothing where he developed an appreciation for vintage restoration and all that entails.
His work in millinery over the years has been displayed in a variety of entertainment venues. A sampling follows:

Doug has four Emmy awards and taught theatrical millinery to graduate and under graduate students at Rutgers
University for over ten years.
He lives in New York City.
